Our chef prepare nutritious and delicious meals on site daily. From early in the morning the aromas from the kitchen fill the air and create excitement for the meals ahead. Parents do not need to send any food with their children as all meals and snacks are provided.

Meal times

Meal times are an important time of the day at crèche. Our educators ensure that mealtimes are relaxed and enjoyable. They are not just about eating but also valuable learning opportunities for socialising and language development. Discussions about food and its origins, nutrition, cultural foods differences and similarities are encouraged.

Children’s choices are always respected. We encourage children to taste from the main menu, however if they taste and do not want more, an alternative is offered.

In line with Jewish Culture, we continually teach our children to appreciate the value of food.

Accreditation

Preparation of food and correct food handling techniques are important to us. We are proud to be consistently awarded the 5 Star Food Safety Rating by the Glen Eira Council as well as perfect scores on our compulsory annual external audit.

We follow the guidelines of the Australian Government recommended “Get up and Grow” so that our meals are balanced (especially as we are a milchig centre and do not serve meat products).

Our chefs are food supervisors with a passion for cooking and an understanding of children's needs.

Our chefs and educators are trained in food handling and allergen safety.

As well, as of May 2023, we are certified by the Achievement Program, which helps create a healthier environment for working and learning. The program focuses on various health areas including healthy eating.

Our Healthy Commitment to you:

Healthy eating is promoted in our Centre.

-We serve wholemeal bread

-Our food is not processed.

-We have a pescatarian menu (no chicken or meat served)

-Refined sugar and salt are kept to a minimum

-All of our food is baked, grilled or steamed and never deep fried.

Water is provided throughout the day, with the support of our educators.  Educators also intentionally remind children to “Stop and Drink” particularly on warmer days.

Menu

Our menu is re-developed every season to incorporate seasonal fruits and vegetables. Our aim is to provide tasty, appealing and nutritious meals that the children will enjoy eating.

We change our menu regularly and we encourage feedback from families.
