Holidays/Illnesses
For your convenience, our online childcare system allows parents to book additional creche days for their child if another child is going to be absent on a particular day.
GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES
Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a payment made by the Government to assist with the cost of Child Care. To claim this subsidy, families need to contact Centrelink.
Please note that the following is guide only. You must contact the Centrelink to find out exactly what amount of subsidy you are entitled to. Benefits received are based on each individual family’s income and circumstances.
Alternatively you can try out this online CCS Calculator.
The amount of CCS you will be entitled to will depend on three factors:
- Your combined annual family income
- Your fortnightly family activity level
- The fees charged by your childcare
Family income
Here is a breakdown of the percentage the Government will contribute to your childcare based on your combined family income.
Please note this is NOT a percentage of Chabad Glen Eira’s fees, rather a percentage of an assigned amount by the government (approximately $146 per day)

Please note these amounts are accurate for July 2025-June 2026.
Annual Cap: removed as of December 2021.
Second Child: Families with more than 1 child aged five or under will get a higher subsidy for their second and subsequent children. This applies to families who earn less than $367,563. The second and subsequent children will receive a 50% - 95% subsidy.
Family Activity Level
All CCS eligible families can now get 72 hours of subsidised child care per fortnight (this equates to 3 days per week)
Recognised activities include but are not limited to: paid work (including leave), approved study or training, actively seeking work, volunteering and self-employment.
In two parent families, both parents must engage in recognised activity for at least 8 hours a fortnight to receive the subsidy (unless exempt). The subsidy is calculated based on the parent with the lower number of hours of activity.

Other info:
- The CCS will be paid directly to the centre and then you only pay the remaining fees.
- Each child is entitled to 42 days of subsidized absence per financial year. For any additional absences please contact Centrelink.
- Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS) provides a higher level of subsidy than the regular CCS, in recognition of the circumstances the child and/or family is facing (including families at risk etc). This has replaced the previous subsidies such as Special Child Care Benefit, JETCCFA and Grandparent Child Care Benefit.
