At Chabad Glen Eira, we consider the health, safety and well being of all children to be our highest priority.

We strive to ensure the safety and well being of children in our care and support their dignity and rights. We use the ‘Convention of the Rights of the Child’ as our reference as well as the EYLF Principles, Practices and Outcome 3 - “Children have a strong sense of well being". These guide our educators in providing a curriculum that ensures health and safety is always in the forefront of all interactions with our children.

Every person involved in Chabad Glen Eira has a responsibility to understand the important and specific role he/she plays individually and collectively to ensure that the well-being and safety of all children is taken into consideration in every decision they make.

SECURITY

Due to the climate we are living in today, security is of utmost importance. We therefore have a security guard during creche opening hours as well as CCTV cameras.

We also have locked front entry gates for cars and pedestrians in place to ensure maximum security. These gates can only be opened via an app by those who are approved by our management. (All parents are given access to the app for a smooth and easy drop off and pick up)

Exit doors have been fitted with closures and the door handles/locks are placed 1.8 metres above the ground to ensure the children cannot leave the premises without an adult. An additional gate has been erected in front of the main entrance of the building as an extra precaution.

Safety checks for both indoors and outdoors are carried out daily.

In addition we are in constant contact with CSG and follow their guidelines in regards to safety protocols.

We are also in the process of upgrading our security thanks to a grant from the Government.

SLEEP

Sleep and rest is a priority within our centre.

Educators consult with families about children’s individual rest and sleep needs including assessing their development and any risk factors. We create the optimum sleep environment for the children with lights off and sleep music playing. The Orange Room have a dedicated sleep room to cater for each child's nap schedule.

Dummies, comforters and special blankets from home are welcome to ensure the child feels secure and has a solid sleep.

Updated information from “Red Nose” and “ACECQA Sleep and Rest Policy and Procedure Guideline” guide our practices. These provide our educators, families and communities with critical and informed information.
