Chabad Glen Eira Creche aims to stimulate a love of learning. Jewish values, customs and traditions are seamlessly merged into a general curriculum based on the guidelines of the NQF and EYLF.
Educators create learning environments where children feel safe and nurtured; where they can explore their world, are encouraged to make choices, and are respected for their individuality. Children are seen as able learners. Our programs aims to facilitate and support their learning, development and awe of the world around them. Our curriculum emerges with a combination of the children’s interests and intentional teaching.
General Learning
At Chabad Glen Eira we embrace the Early Years Learning Framework: Being, Belonging, and Becoming & the National Quality Standards. This, together with our Philosophy drives a quality play based educational program that views our children as capable and competent learners surrounded by agency. Each room uses the 5 outcomes from the EYLF as the infrastructure for their plans.
Our curriculum is flexible and emerging. Our learning environment is a balance of child-initiated learning and intentional teaching. Both the indoor and outdoor environments are flexible and always available. This allows children to make choices in their learning experiences and they are supported to spend time exploring a variety of indoor and outdoor experiences. Educators listen, observe and adapt the environment, involving the children in the process. The environment provides opportunity for play, appropriate risk taking, rest and relaxation. Our large, covered area outside also ensures that even in inclement weather, play can continue.
Jewish/Hebrew Studies
At Chabad Glen Eira we are committed to transmitting Jewish values and these values are embedded in our program and in full accordance with the Early Years Framework. Our children are proud of their Jewish identity and enjoy the Hebrew language.
Jewish traditions and values are embraced in our daily morning prayers (Tefilla) and Brachot (blessings for food), weekly Shabbat parties, Challah baking and regular Holidays/Chagim celebrations.
We also incorporate Hebrew throughout our centre. We have many visual Alef Bet (Hebrew alphabet) and Hebrew signs, as well as an emphasis on bilingual songs, books and prayers.

We also have many other incursions throughout the year such as animal farms, Hatzalah visits, Smile on Seniors activities, Grandparents Day, Therapy Dog visits, Chagim activities, community events and more!
Cultural Calendar
We use the opportunity of National/International cultural days and weeks to enhance our children’s learning.
These include Dental Week, Science Week, Book Week, Road Safety Week, Pyjama Day, NAIDOC Week, Child Protection Week, RUOK Day, various country's National days and more!
These events provide great opportunities to celebrate the culture of our educators, to extend our knowledge and to raise money for various causes.
Other Events
Chabad Glen Eira Creche is part of the Chabad Glen Eira community. Our building is also host to a Synagogue, community learning space and youth centre. As a result, our Crèche families remain affiliates of the community long after their children complete Crèche, often continuing to our Hebrew School, Bar and Bat Mitzvah Classes and camps.
We also invite our past and present families to all exciting family events, presentations, workshops and more.
